Job Specification

Audit and Compliance is a specialised unit of the Ministry of Health responsible for Counter-fraud, Audit and Risk Management activities in relation to over $6 billion of annual payments to health providers. We are seeking an experienced Senior Auditor to join our Christchurch based finance and governance team. 

 

Your in-depth knowledge of financial information and structures will contribute to the provision of high quality, evidence based audits to confirm that health and disability providers throughout New Zealand are delivering the services for which they are funded. 

 

As a Senior Auditor you will also assist the Team Leader with:

  • the training and development of auditors
  • the development of accountability provisions in policy, contracts and service specifications
  • controls and verification measures in claim payment systems
  • the provision of advice to Ministry and District Health Board contract managers

 

To be successful in this role you will have experience in an extended financial audit environment, in-depth knowledge of financial information and structures, accounting and auditing methods and tools. Your ability to apply critical thinking, navigate complexity and communicate accounting information to non-accountants will contribute to your success.
