Job Specification

The Office of the Director-General (ODG) of Health is responsible for Government and Ministerial services, Internal and External Communications, and provides support to the Director-General of Health, Ministers and the Executive Leadership Team. The office also supports the Chief Science Officer.

We're looking for a Manager to lead our Government and Executive Advisory team. The Government and Executive Advisory team consists of highly capable advisors that are tasked with providing insight and advice on the governance and performance of sector entities, and support the quality, consistency, and timeliness of outputs across the Ministry.  

In addition, your work will involve advising on appointments and governance effectiveness across 42 entities, advising on non-DHB Crown Entity performance, completing OPQs, SC questions, WPQs, and Rapid Responses, maintaining single view of Minister and public-facing work, and managing quality and proactively identifying connections and risks for the Executive Leadership Team.

We're looking for a highly skilled leader who can take us from good to great!  You'll have a strong understanding of the machinery of government and parliamentary processes, and reporting timelines. You'll be an excellent communicator and have a collaborative and inclusive style.
