We are seeking a skilled and capable Senior Information Analyst to join the vibrant Analysis and Reporting team at the Ministry of Health.  

 

 

The Analysis and Reporting team of Information Analysts and SAS programmers use health data from the National Collections to respond to requests for information from a wide range of customers including the Minister of Health, Ministry of Health, DHBs and other health sector organisations, researchers, non-governmental organisations and the public.

 

 

As our Information Analyst/Senior Analyst you will work across the data collections that Analytical Services access to provide fit for purpose data, information and advice to a wide variety of requestors.

 

 

The work is fast-paced with good variety and requires a sound combination of technical skill, attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.  You will use a range of frameworks, tools and approaches to deliver a high quality and timely service. 

 

 

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate:

  • An understanding of the New Zealand health sector and health information
  • The ability to analyse and present data to suit a variety of audiences
  • Strong customer focus, interpersonal and relationship management skills 
  • The ability to work with data to produce analyses using analytical tools
  • The ability to acquire specialist knowledge in assigned data collections, but also a broad knowledge of the Ministry's National Collections
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • The ability to work in a team environment and juggle competing priorities
