The Clinical Risk Management Branch of Medsafe is looking for a motivated individual to join the pharmacovigilance team.

 

The Clinical Risk Management Branch is responsible for pre-market clinical evaluation of medicines and for managing the safety of medicines used in New Zealand.

 

This role involves identifying medicine safety issues, investigating these issues, conducting benefit-risk assessments, providing secretariat support for the Medicines Adverse Reactions Committee, responding to requests and queries from stakeholders and helping to produce and edit technical publications.

 

The successful applicant is likely to have had previous experience in:

  • Assessing and critically appraising clinical data

  • Providing credible and evidence based technical and scientific advice

  • Medical writing or communicating information to a wide audience including consumers and healthcare professionals.

 

A pharmacy, pharmacology, medical or health sciences-related tertiary qualification is desirable. Training and support will be provided for the right candidate.
