Programme Manager – In Between Travel
Fixed Term until June 2019
We have an excellent leadership opportunity for a Programme Manager to join the Contracts Support team here at the Ministry of Health!
Contribute your management expertise in an organisation that is making a difference to the lives of older people and disabled people through the implementation of significant change in the Home and Community Support sector.
The Service Commissioning business unit manages the relationships between the Ministry and health and disability service providers. This includes funding, purchasing, performance management, commercial advice and contractual arrangements. The business unit works closely with the Strategy and Policy and the Finance and Performance business units to design, plan and fund health and disability initiatives.
The programme of work for the business unit is adapted annually to deliver on government's current strategies and priorities and to target populations with the greatest need such as Maori. As government's health targets are met, the focus changes to new targets and opportunities for improvement.
The focus of this role is to manage some significant change in the Home and Community Support sector. Namely, the management of a programme of work to implement Guaranteed Hours for home support workers and the ongoing management of travel payments to support workers.
As a Programme Manager, In-Between Travel, you will have the opportunity to work with senior staff from the Ministry, Unions, NGOs, and DHBs involved in the programme.
The reason for vacancy is due to the need to implement the In-Between Travel settlement. This is a fixed term/secondment role until 30 June 2019
To be successful in this role you will have a genuine commitment to providing a quality service to all customers, an ability to develop solutions to complex problems, excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information, an intermediate level knowledge and experience of Contract Management, and a good understanding of Finance.
In return for your experience we can offer an opportunity to use your talents on an exciting and important project.
