Medsafe is the New Zealand Medicines and Medical Devices Safety Authority responsible for the regulation of therapeutic products in New Zealand.
Medsafe is looking for an Advisor to join us in the Product Regulation Branch on a permanent, full-time basis. The Product Regulation Branch is responsible for the pre-market assessment of new and changed medicines against New Zealand and international standards for pharmaceutical quality.
As the Advisor Science (Medicines Assessment), you will evaluate the pharmaceutical quality information in technical dossiers provided by applicants seeking market authorisation for new and changed medicines. In addition, you will offer expert advice on the quality aspects of medicines and contribute to the activities of the Product Regulation Branch.
To be considered for this position, ideally, you will have a qualification in a relevant field such as pharmacy, chemistry, pharmacology, or other sciences with an emphasis on medicines, and have the desire and expertise to contribute to the regulation of medicines in New Zealand.
The successful applicant is likely to have the following:
sound technical knowledge of and familiarity with the manufacture and testing of pharmaceuticals
the ability to evaluate large amounts of technical data and produce credible and evidence based technical and scientific advice
an incisive mind, able to learn new things and to quickly understand complex situations
excellent written and oral communication skills
the ability to work effectively on your own and in a team environment.
