As the General Manager Communications, you'll be responsible for delivering the 2017 - 2019 Communications Strategy. This role will proactively engage with the Health Sector and cross agency partners/colleagues to ensure effective communication, as well as being a key point of contact for the Minister and Associate Minister(s) of Health's Offices.
The General Manager Communications is a trusted advisor to the Director-General, Executive Leadership Team and to the Minister and Associate Minister(s) of Health. This position is charged with leading a cohesive, highly effective and strategically focussed team responsible for internal and stakeholder communications including the Ministry's website and system facing publications, digital communications including channels, and media/public relations.
To be successful, you'll be a seasoned communications professional with experience at a leadership level and be skilled at thinking broadly and making strategic decisions. You're a well-respected communications professional with strong relationships and networks across the sector, and with a variety of stakeholders. You're an inspiring and engaging leader with a track record of getting results and bringing people with you on the journey.
The Ministry of Health is the Government's principal advisor on health and disability policy. Our job is to protect the health of New Zealanders and, through leadership of the health and disability system, we help New Zealanders to live well, stay well and get well. We work with the health and disability sector to manage a programme of work that supports the Government's priorities.
