We have an exciting opportunity for a Director - Drinking Water Policy to join us in our Wellington office on a 12 month fixed term basis.
This role will be responsible for overseeing the drinking water programme. This role will be lead a cross-ministry team of policy and technical expertise to both strengthen the existing regime, and advise on an improved regulatory regime for the future.
You will be working with senior leadership in setting the parameters and direction of the work for the group, keeping the momentum across the programme whilst cultivating cross-agency collaboration particularly with the 3-waters programme of work being led by DIA and providing strong Health based advice in the wider water context.
To be successful in this role, you will:
have demonstrated experience in leading complex programmes of work or projects. Experience of working in a matrix/agile project management environment would be highly desirable
have a proven ability to influence others at a senior level in order to achieve outcomes impacting on the sector, and strong intellectual leadership capabilities with an ability to draw on a range of frameworks and methodologies
be a highly experienced, highly motivated self-starter, who is looking to work in a results focused environment which requires agility, flexibility and confidence working with ambiguity
have proven experience in working in a large government agency as part of a dynamic Leadership Team
have highly developed written and oral communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and in plain language to a variety of audiences
display a strongly collaborative style and be committed to ensuring an equity approach is taken to all aspects of work
have a relevant tertiary or other relevant education
