Delivering on the Ministry's sector leadership and stewardship responsibilities
This is a high profile opportunity for a senior public servant to directly support the Director-General of Health and Ministry of Health Executive Leadership Team to make a significant impact on the health of New Zealanders.
Your role will be to help ensure that the Ministry is the key player in providing advice on health issues and is a trusted advisor to the Government of the day. You will be expected to bring both strategic and operational expertise to bear in providing leadership on presenting issues on behalf of the Director-General.
You will provide leadership and advice on projects within the Ministry, across government and with wider health sector. The role has a significant external-facing aspect, and as such you will be required to develop strong external relationships.
To be successful in this role you will need extensive government experience and/or sector experience, including in senior roles. It is critical you have the ability to provide professional, independent and objective advice. Ideally you will have extensive knowledge of the health sector and the wider machinery of government processes.
