Fixed Term for 6 Months
The Strategy and Policy Business Unit is responsible for the Ministry's advice on the health and disability system. We are looking for an experienced Principal Policy Analyst, to join the System Strategy and Policy Business Unit.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of how legislative and regulatory instruments can be applied to deliver better economic and social outcomes and improve the lives of New Zealanders.
As well as extensive knowledge of public policy and machinery of government, you will demonstrate a drive for results, achieved through initiative, leadership and collaboration. You will quickly assimilate new and complex information, and apply your excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work to tight timeframes. Your problem solving abilities, leadership, influence and organisational skills will help set up the system to better improve the health and wellbeing of all New Zealanders.

A relevant tertiary qualification or comparable experience in health or social or economic policy would be an advantage.
