Job Description
Join the Ministry of Health as our new Manager, Health, Safety & Wellbeing and help us embed and further improve our Health & Safety vision, initiatives and culture through Ministry-wide engagement, collaboration and innovation.
The Manager Health, Safety & Wellbeing is a senior practitioner responsible for providing strategic and operational health and safety expertise that will help facilitate our employees' safety and wellbeing.
Working closely with the Group Manager, Operations and managing the Advisor Health, Safety & Wellbeing, this is a critical role and will provide leadership and guidance to various stakeholders including the Executive Leadership Team, and Health and Safety committees to develop, implement, and champion the programme outcomes across the Ministry.
To be successful in this role you will have the following skills & experience:

Minimum of 5 years' experience as a senior Health & Safety practitioner

Minimum of 4 years managing people

Experience delivering Health & Safety training across all levels of an organisation

Demonstrated understanding of the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015
-
Qualified SafePlus assessor or the ability to achieve without further training or experience
-
Experience delivering policy or strategic advice at a senior level in a public sector organisation
-
Experience implementing health and safety best practice across a large, multi-office organisation
-
Experience working on national projects and within governance structures
-
Experience communicating with a wide range of audiences on complex issues
-
Experience working through others to achieve outcomes
-
Knowledge of the ACC Accredited Employers programme and experience in the audit process

Excellent written and oral communication skills
