We are looking for a Senior Advisor (fixed-term for 12 months) to join the Pacific health team at the Ministry of Health.
This is an exciting, varied and busy role. The position will suit someone with a delivery focus, ability to work flexibly and to pick new things up quickly.
As a Senior Advisor you will have a key role in helping to deliver the Ministry's Pacific work programme which includes the development of a new Pacific Health Action Plan, providing advice on Ministry priority work streams, and supporting the management /administration of the Pacific Provider and Workforce Development Fund.
Strong candidates will have experience in managing projects, leading and delivering high quality advice, and working in the health sector. They should also be able to demonstrate an understanding of Pacific health and communities, health equity and the machinery of government.
The Ministry of Health leads New Zealand's health and disability system, and has overall responsibility for the management and development of that system and individuals working within the Ministry have a responsibility as stewards of the sector.
This role sits Population Health and Prevention Directorate. Staff in Population Health and Prevention work across the Ministry, health sector and other sectors to deliver better and more equitable health outcomes for New Zealanders.
