The Mental Health and Addiction Directorate brings together the 'end-to-end' activities and functions for mental health and addiction services, including strategy, policy, data analysis, service planning and improvement, commissioning and monitoring. It will also lead the response to the Inquiry into Mental Health and Addiction. Addiction recovery is a priority programme within this work, and we are seeking a fixed term Principal Advisor to join the Addictions team.
In this role you will be responsible for developing, advising on and supporting the development and implementation of a national model of care for alcohol and drug addiction treatment, and of national and local initiatives to improve the health and wellbeing of New Zealanders.
You will need to be a well-rounded team player with experience in building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including on the implementation of new initiatives, and have demonstrated advanced oral and written skills. This position will be assigned to the Addictions team and report to the Manager of that team.
