The Clinical Chief Advisor Mental Health and Addiction provides expert clinical advice and leadership to the Deputy Director-General and the Directorate.
The Mental Health and Addiction Directorate of the Ministry of Health works to ensure mental health and addiction services are strong, sustainable and safe for all New Zealanders. Our focus is on delivering on He Ara Oranga – The Inquiry response priority programmes.
The role of Clinical Chief Advisor is a new role that is responsible for partnering with the Deputy Director-General and the senior leadership to provide clinical advice, leadership and guidance on the mental health and addiction sector.
To be successful in this role you will need to be a registered health practitioner with a current Annual Practicising Certificate. We are looking for your expertise in providing strategic advice and thought leadership within a work programme that goes across the sector. Along with your technical clinical capability, you will have strengths in collaboration and influencing as your ability to build and maintain positive working relationships will be instrumental in the delivery of this programme.
