The Manager Investment and Funding Strategy is an exemplar of leadership in direction setting, and managing to deliver quality policy strategy advice to improve health outcomes for New Zealanders.
The role of Manager Investment and Funding Strategy is a new role that reports to the Group Manager Strategy. You will be responsible for developing, leading and implementing the strategic aspects on the annual Vote Health Budget process as well as building a comprehensive understanding of cost drivers across the health and disability system, and the levers to influence those drivers. You'll work alongside the Manager System Stewardship to ensure that our funding and investment advice aligns with the strategic objectives of the public health and disability system.
You'll bring a thorough understanding of public policy issues and settings and have demonstrated success in leading complex policy pieces in a dynamic environment - you know what excellent policy advice looks like and how to commission your team successfully. You'll bring a broad understanding of the machinery of government and know when to collaborate to get things done.
You are a highly adaptive policy professional who can see the benefits of strong policy advice using data analysis and research to evidence advice. You bring with you a strong ability to take complex information and make it relevant to a range of audiences. You'll want to contribute to cross ministry work on system funding models, design and improvements and be sought out for your advice.
You're an inclusive people leader with a collaborative working style, ensuring equity issues and our obligations to the Treaty of Waitangi are at the forefront of our thinking and advice. You build your team, leading through others and developing policy talent.
