Data and Digital lead, support and advise health and disability sector transformation through the use of data, digital services and technology.
The role of Senior Information Analyst (PRIMHD) is an existing role that is responsible for the analysis and making available health and disability information from the Ministry of Health's National Collections, with a focus on mental health data.
The role involves gathering requirements from customers, preparing data and analysis in response, and supporting customers to use the data. Requests will come from across the health sector, including researchers and from the general public. You will support people to use the data, using your specialist knowledge about health collections, particularly mental health data. As required, you will undertake analytical work, particularly related to the quality of health data. As a Senior in the team, you will mentor and support other more junior colleagues, and think strategically about analysis and data management in the Ministry. You will be involved in sharing data with external agencies, which will require you to develop strong knowledge of data ethics and health information privacy. There will be opportunities to work on project based work with other teams, including using the Integrated Data Infrastructure (IDI).

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate strong analytical skills, and knowledge of statistical techniques; experience using statistical / analytical software; skills in mentoring and training; an aptitude for health data; and strong communication, relationship building, and teamwork skills. Experience with process and systems improvement; data ethics; and / or working in the IDI would be an advantage.
