The Senior Advisor engagement provides advice to strengthen stakeholder relationships, consumer engagement and communications for the National Screening Unit's cancer, newborn and antenatal screening programmes and support programme delivery in the community.
The National Screening Unit sits within our Population Health and Prevention Directorate which works across sectors to achieve health equity and protect, promote and improve the health and wellbeing of people, families and communities. The Directorate includes our key national public health functions, emergency management, the National Screening Unit and a range of population health programmes such as child health, Pacific Health, tobacco control, immunisation, and cancer control.
The Senior Advisor, Engagement is responsible for working with NSU programme teams, Provider and other stakeholders to develop approaches and innovative solutions to support the delivery of these important Programmes in the community. This includes developing a strategic approach to stakeholder engagement, managing communications campaigns using different communication channels as well as supporting and connecting with local community stakeholders with a strong focus on improving equity.
To be successful, we are looking for your demonstrated skills in engaging with teams and stakeholders in developing consistent, innovative and effective approaches to maximise communications and support engagement with screening programmes. Experience in partnering with iwi, hapū and Māori to improve health outcomes is essential. You will have the ability to:
- translate strategy into action
- develop networks quickly and effectively
- work at a national level, whilst supporting and linking local initiatives
