The PHA provides public health leadership across the health and disability sector and beyond to influence the wider determinants of population health to enable people, their whānau and environments to be healthy and improve their wellbeing. The PHA is responsible for leading on all public health and population health policy, strategy, regulatory, intelligence, surveillance, and monitoring functions.
Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do
The Public Health Policy and Regulation Group are responsible for providing policy advice to Ministers and decision-makers on issues that promote and protect public health for the whole population or groups of people to achieve pae ora for all.
As a strong communicator, you will use your analytical and critical thinking skills to develop written or verbal advice to support the wider team. Working within set timeframes is important in this key role, and your ability to manage your time effectively will enable you to successfully juggle and deliver multiple tasks.

- A relevant tertiary qualification
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and strategic advisory skills
- Previous successful experience in using sound judgement and discretion, and proven ability to work under pressure in an environment of ambiguity and complexity
- Demonstrated understanding of legislation and regulatory settings
