- Salary midpoint of $216,144, actual salary dependent on your experience

Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do
In this 12 month fixed term role you will lead a team in delivering quality policy advice to improve health outcomes for New Zealanders in a complex and challenging policy space.
You will join the Senior Leadership Team and the wider Ministry by collaborating, participating, and influencing, lead the strategic direction and planning of the team, and support the Deputy Director-General to achieve the vision of the Directorate.
You will lead programmes of work within the Directorate and Ministry, support the pastoral and development needs of the Group, and work across the Ministry to ensure strong and appropriate linkages with and between projects, programme development, implementation, planning, funding, and monitoring.
Ko ngā pukenga ōu - What You'll Bring
- Proven experience in leading programmes of work to deliver on Government and Ministry priorities, with a good understanding of the health policy landscape in New Zealand
- Strong leadership experience in providing direction to your team and collaborating, participating, and influencing to achieve successful outcomes with our Senior Leadership Team and the wider Ministry
- Technical experience in developing and implementing strategic plans that align with the vision of the Directorate and Ministry
- Excellent stakeholder/relationship management skills, including the ability to build collaborative relationships with the wider health sector, government, and external stakeholders
- Understanding of the priority of equity and Treaty obligations in policy development and implementation.
