At Manatū Hauora – Ministry of Health we are the kaitiaki of the health system, providing leadership and driving strategy and performance. We regulate the health sector and are the primary source of advice on health matters.
Our Insights and Modelling team provides a range of data analytics, insights and modelling to the Ministry of Health. The data products are widely used in policy and other decision making, and as well as using a wide variety of health data, also draw on Stats NZ's Integrated Data Infrastructure (IDI). It is part of a Group that is the functional leaders for data analytics at the Ministry, and co-ordinate this across the agency.
Ko ake mahi - What you'll do
You will lead a team of analysts producing high quality action-oriented modelling and insights, as well as developing strategies for effective, reproducible data analysis. Working across the team and the Ministry, you will ensure there is a solid understanding of the needs and objectives of key customers including Strategy, Policy, and Monitoring.
Ko pūkenga - What you'll bring
- Advanced qualification in health research or equivalent experience
- Previous leadership and management experience leading and supporting technical specialists
- Awareness of Te tiriti and te ao Māori and how it applies to data analytics
- Quantitative analysis skills at a tertiary level, or comparable practical experience
- Experience developing and implementing analytics, insights and modelling for evidence-based decision making
- Strong communication skills and experience in briefing agency executives
