Job Description
- Fixed term for 5 years
- Health Security pillar of the Polynesian Health Corridors programme
- Work collaboratively with Pacific country counterparts
The Polynesian Health Corridors (PHC) team supports Polynesian countries through a range of modalities. In addition to directly assisting countries in some areas, the PHC team also contracts partners/suppliers for technical assistance, acts as a knowledge hub, supports mentoring and facilitates connections.
About the role
The Health Security team will be providing Polynesian countries with public health threat preparedness advice, including assistance and technical requests.
As Lead – Health Security, you are responsible for the strategic and technical advice to establish and deliver the programme activity plans to meet the team's objectives. You will provide technical advice to Polynesian countries as required, through supporting other leaders in the group.
This role is fixed term for 5 years and has a salary midpoint of $140,938, actual salary dependent on your experience.
Ko pūkenga - What you'll bring
- Familiar with health and development issues of Polynesian countries and the connections to Pasifika communities in NZ
- Knowledge of international development, development programmes and principles
- Senior experience in matters relating to Public and population health management
- Ability to actively manage critical people and develop successors for future roles
- Tertiary qualification in Public Health, Population Health, or a relevant field
