The Polynesian Health Corridors (PHC) team supports Polynesian countries to strengthen public health systems. This includes providing technical assistance, mentoring and facilitating connections, as well as contract management.
About the role
The Health Security team provides the six Polynesian countries with assistance to prevent and prepare for public health threats.
Over two years the Senior Advisor, Health Security, will support the transition from an earlier focus on COVID19 and assist the design of activities to address vaccine preventable diseases. In addition, you will be responsible for providing high quality advice in support of the Polynesian Health Corridors programme objectives and work programme.
This role is fixed term for 2 years and has a midpoint salary of $105,270. Appointing salary dependent on individual skills and experience.
Ko pūkenga - What you'll bring
- Strong public health and systems development experience with experience in Public Health system capability development
- Experience in designing public health programmes/projects.
- Familiarity and experience with Polynesian countries' health and development issues and connections to Pasifika communities in New Zealand
- Demonstrated knowledge of the machinery of government
