- Seeking clinical expertise in the Health of Older People, with an understanding of Quality and Safety methodologies
- Permanent, 0.8 FTE position, Wellington based, applications outside Wellington will also be considered
- Midpoints of $180,896 and $197,978 dependent on your professional skills and experience
Ko ake mahi - What you'll do
The Clinical Chief Advisor is a systems level expert providing clinical input and strategic professional advice across the Ministry's priorities and work programmes, and across the wider health sector.
- Contribute to a portfolio-based work programme relevant to your skills and experience
- Provide senior clinical leadership, support and oversight to the Chief Clinical Officers, Group Manager and whole Ministry, in support of the Director-General and the Minister of Health
- Identify best implementation practice nationally and internationally and use this information to inform advice as appropriate
- Lead and provide expert input into Ministerial briefings, Cabinet papers and advice to the Minister. Provide responses to parliamentary questions, Ministerials, Official Information Act and other requests for information.

Ko pūkenga - What you'll bring
- Extensive experience in developing and maintaining effective professional relationships with a wide range of high-level stakeholders
- A sound and extensive broad clinical background ideally with other relevant experience (e.g. research, high-level writing, business skills).
- Knowledge of key issues impacting on the New Zealand health and disability sector including a clear understanding of the current and emerging issues within nursing
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead, manage and influence in a clinical leadership role
- Ability to think critically, assimilate complex and often competing ideas logically and write or articulate these clearly, concisely and coherently.
