Ko ake mahi - What you'll do
As an Executive Assistant to the Director Emergency Management, you will have a natural flare for being highly organised and have the ability to juggle multiple tasks whilst providing a seamless service to both the Director and wider leadership team.
You will proactively stay in sync with the Director by strategically prioritising tasks. These include managing calendars and workflows and engaging with the leadership team, staff and external parties on initiatives. You'll help to keep the Director's day moving smoothly and the wider team humming.
Key to this role is maintaining a high level of professionalism, confidentiality and efficiency to support the Director with developing and maintaining strong key relationships.

- Prior experience working as an Executive Assistant
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to address complex situations calmly and effectively
- Attention to detail and excellent time management and organisational skills
- The ability to build and maintain strong relationships
- A proactive, enthusiastic and energetic approach
- Ability to support the wider team in the event of a health response

We also have a role ensuring that the health system is co-ordinated as part of any all of government emergency response. Finally, we connect the Ministry with the national security architecture via ODESC.
