Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in the pursuit of pae ora (healthy futures) for Māori? We are seeking a Principal Advisor to provide high-quality hauora Māori, Tiriti, and equity guidance, and to lead innovative initiatives within Manatū Hauora. In this role, you will help shape key work programmes, support people leaders, and contribute to a future that centres equity, collaboration, and innovation to improve health outcomes for Māori. - Build Partnerships: Be a trusted business partner by collaborating with people leaders, offering specialised advice for hauora Māori, Tiriti, and equity solutions.
- Drive Cultural Growth: Support and foster an inclusive organisational culture by promoting effective policies, programmes and practices working across the Ministry with people leaders and teams.
- Champion Innovation: Lead innovative approaches and key work programmes aligned with Manatū Hauora's mission and priorities for hauora Māori excellence.
- Strengthen Capability: Mentor and guide business partners and teams to build Hauora Māori, Tiriti o Waitangi, and equity knowledge and competencies.
- Provide Expert Advice and Thought Leadership: Create strategic solutions and advise on work programmes to deliver impactful outcomes for the Government and the Ministry.
Ko ngā pūkenga ōu - What you'll bring
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills and experience creating and maintaining trusting and productive business partnering relationships
- A deep understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity and its application to government policy contexts
- Senior experience providing high quality advice and support in business partnering relationships that deliver effective results
- Knowledge and understanding of central government, ministry and ministerial settings, legislative and policy context for hauora Māori
- Knowledge and understanding of systems and design thinking with demonstrated experience in facilitating system change in complex organisations
- Knowledge of Te Ao Māori and understanding of mātauranga Māori
