- Midpoint of $162,129, dependent on experience
Are you passionate about advancing Māori health equity and ensuring Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations are central to our mahi? We are seeking an experienced leader to join our team as the Manager Kaupapa Inquiries. You will have the unique opportunity to shape and influence the Ministry's approach to Māori health equity. Your work will directly contribute to creating healthier futures for Māori, ensuring that Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations are not just met but are central to everything we do.
Ko tōu ake mahi - What you'll do
- Lead and Manage: Oversee the Kaupapa Inquiries Team, ensuring effective planning and execution of programmes and projects.
- Build Relationships: Foster strong collaborations across the Ministry, public sector agencies, and Crown Law to support pae ora (healthy futures) for Māori.
- Manage Programmes: Monitor and manage Kaupapa Inquiries programmes to meet Government and Ministry priorities, ensuring objectives are achieved.
- Provide Advice: Offer high-quality advice and thought leadership on Kaupapa Inquiries, ensuring alignment with Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations.
- Develop the Team: Support the growth and development of the Kaupapa Inquiries team, building effective relationships with Māori communities and stakeholders
Ko ngā pūkenga ōu - What you'll bring
- Tertiary qualification in a health or relevant field and/or equivalent experience and significant Stakeholder, iwi and Māori relations experience
- Expert knowledge and significant experience in Waitangi Tribunal inquiries,Treaty settlement relationships, Treaty partnerships, Treaty development or a relevant field
- Proven experience operating in Te Ao Māori contexts, including understanding of tikanga, kawa and te reo rangatira
- In depth understanding of and experience of applying Te Tiriti o Waitangi in the context of the health sector
- Previous leadership and management skills required at team level
