Ko tōu ake mahi - What you'll do
The New Zealand Medical Assistance Team (NZMAT) is managed by the MoH Emergency Management Team and provides health assistance to regions affected by major emergencies in support of local health authorities through New Zealand and in the Pacific. This support is in the form of a task organised medical and logistics team. This may be deployed as a small role specific team or a Type 1 medical facility.
In this role you will be responsible for the efficient management, ordering, and procurement of all materials as well as administration required to support the New Zealand Medical Assistance Team. This includes during business-as-usual operations, readiness for deployment, deployment and redeployment requirements associated with inventory oversight and coordination.
Ko ngā pūkenga ōu - What you'll bring
- Knowledge of / experience in the management of medical supplies and healthcare inventory management experience
- Formal training in inventory management, purchasing or a related field
- Proven organisational skills with the ability to think ahead, use initiative, establish priorities, and meet deadlines whilst preserving high levels of accuracy and confidentiality
- Previous experience in applying critical thinking and using sound judgement to develop options and provide advice
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to tailor complex messages to a range of audiences
- Competent level of computer literacy, in particular Microsoft office suite of applications
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster good stakeholder relationships.
